As-Saffat

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

رَبَّكُمْ

rabbakum

your Lord

وَرَبَّ

warabba

and (the) Lord

ءَابَآئِكُمُ

ābāikumu

(of) your forefathers

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

l-awalīna

(of) your forefathers

فَكَذَّبُوهُ

fakadhabūhu

But they denied him

فَإِنَّهُمْ

fa-innahum

so indeed, they

لَمُحْضَرُونَ

lamuḥ'ḍarūna

(will) surely be brought

إِلَّا

illā

Except

عِبَادَ

ʿibāda

(the) slaves

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

l-mukh'laṣīna

the chosen ones

وَتَرَكْنَا

wataraknā

And We left

عَلَيْهِ

ʿalayhi

for him

فِى

fī

among

ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

l-ākhirīna

the later generations

سَلَـٰمٌ

salāmun

Peace be

عَلَىٰٓ

ʿalā

upon

إِلْ يَاسِينَ

il yāsīna

Elijah

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, We

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhālika

thus

نَجْزِى

najzī

reward

ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

l-muḥ'sinīna

the good-doers

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed, he (was)

مِنْ

min

of

عِبَادِنَا

ʿibādinā

Our slaves

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

l-mu'minīna

believing

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

لُوطًۭا

lūṭan

Lut

لَّمِنَ

lamina

(was) of

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

l-mur'salīna

the Messengers

إِذْ

idh

When

نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ

najjaynāhu

We saved him

وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ

wa-ahlahu

and his family

أَجْمَعِينَ

ajmaʿīna

all

إِلَّا

illā

Except

عَجُوزًۭا

ʿajūzan

an old woman

فِى

fī

(was) among

ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ

l-ghābirīna

those who remained behind

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

دَمَّرْنَا

dammarnā

We destroyed

ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ

l-ākharīna

the others

وَإِنَّكُمْ

wa-innakum

And indeed, you

لَتَمُرُّونَ

latamurrūna

surely pass

عَلَيْهِم

ʿalayhim

by them

مُّصْبِحِينَ

muṣ'biḥīna

(in the) morning

وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ

wabi-al-layli

And at night

أَفَلَا

afalā

Then will not

تَعْقِلُونَ

taʿqilūna

you use reason

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

يُونُسَ

yūnusa

Yunus

لَمِنَ

lamina

(was) surely of

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

l-mur'salīna

the Messengers

إِذْ

idh

When

أَبَقَ

abaqa

he ran away

إِلَى

ilā

to

ٱلْفُلْكِ

l-ful'ki

the ship

ٱلْمَشْحُونِ

l-mashḥūni

laden

فَسَاهَمَ

fasāhama

Then he drew lots

فَكَانَ

fakāna

and was

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ

l-mud'ḥaḍīna

the losers

فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ

fal-taqamahu

Then swallowed him

ٱلْحُوتُ

l-ḥūtu

the fish

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

while he

مُلِيمٌۭ

mulīmun

(was) blameworthy

فَلَوْلَآ

falawlā

And if not

أَنَّهُۥ

annahu

that he

كَانَ

kāna

was

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ

l-musabiḥīna

those who glorify

لَلَبِثَ

lalabitha

Certainly, he (would have) remained

فِى

fī

in

بَطْنِهِۦٓ

baṭnihi

its belly

إِلَىٰ

ilā

until

يَوْمِ

yawmi

the Day

يُبْعَثُونَ

yub'ʿathūna

they are resurrected

۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ

fanabadhnāhu

But We cast him

بِٱلْعَرَآءِ

bil-ʿarāi

onto the open shore

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

while he

سَقِيمٌۭ

saqīmun

(was) ill

وَأَنۢبَتْنَا

wa-anbatnā

And We caused to grow

عَلَيْهِ

ʿalayhi

over him

شَجَرَةًۭ

shajaratan

a plant

مِّن

min

of

يَقْطِينٍۢ

yaqṭīnin

gourd

وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ

wa-arsalnāhu

And We sent him

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

مِا۟ئَةِ

mi-ati

a hundred

أَلْفٍ

alfin

thousand

أَوْ

aw

or

يَزِيدُونَ

yazīdūna

more

فَـَٔامَنُوا۟

faāmanū

And they believed

فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ

famattaʿnāhum

so We gave them enjoyment

إِلَىٰ

ilā

for

حِينٍۢ

ḥīnin

a while

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ

fa-is'taftihim

Then ask them

أَلِرَبِّكَ

alirabbika

Does your Lord

ٱلْبَنَاتُ

l-banātu

(have) daughters

وَلَهُمُ

walahumu

while for them

ٱلْبَنُونَ

l-banūna

(are) sons

أَمْ

am

Or

خَلَقْنَا

khalaqnā

did We create

ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ

l-malāikata

the Angels

إِنَـٰثًۭا

ināthan

females

وَهُمْ

wahum

while they

شَـٰهِدُونَ

shāhidūna

(were) witnesses
