101

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَسْــَٔلُواْ عَنْ أَشْيَآءَ إِن تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِن تَسْــَٔلُواْ عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهَا‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ ﴿١٠١﴾

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe

لَا

(Do) not

تَسْـَٔلُوا۟

tasalū

ask

عَنْ

ʿan

about

أَشْيَآءَ

ashyāa

things

إِن

in

if

تُبْدَ

tub'da

made clear

لَكُمْ

lakum

to you

تَسُؤْكُمْ

tasu'kum

it may distress you

وَإِن

wa-in

and if

تَسْـَٔلُوا۟

tasalū

you ask

عَنْهَا

ʿanhā

about it

حِينَ

ḥīna

when

يُنَزَّلُ

yunazzalu

is being revealed

ٱلْقُرْءَانُ

l-qur'ānu

the Quran

تُبْدَ

tub'da

it would be made clear

لَكُمْ

lakum

to you

عَفَا

ʿafā

has (been) pardoned

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

عَنْهَا ۗ

ʿanhā

[about] it

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

and Allah

غَفُورٌ

ghafūrun

(is) Oft-Forgiving

حَلِيمٌۭ

ḥalīmun

All-Forbearing

102

قَدْ سَأَلَهَا قَوْمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَصْبَحُواْ بِهَا كَـٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٠٢﴾

Indeed

سَأَلَهَا

قَوْمٌۭ

a people

مِّن

قَبْلِكُمْ

before you

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

أَصْبَحُوا۟

they became

بِهَا

bihā

thereby

كَـٰفِرِينَ

kāfirīna

disbelievers

103

مَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَحِيرَةٍ وَلَا سَآئِبَةٍ وَلَا وَصِيلَةٍ وَلَا حَامٍ‌ۙ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ‌ۖ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١٠٣﴾

jaʿala

has (been) made

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

مِنۢ

min

بَحِيرَةٍۢ

baḥīratin

a Bahirah

وَلَا

walā

and not

سَآئِبَةٍۢ

sāibatin

a Saibah

وَلَا

walā

and not

وَصِيلَةٍۢ

waṣīlatin

a Wasilah

وَلَا

walā

and not

حَامٍۢ ۙ

ḥāmin

a Hami

وَلَـٰكِنَّ

walākinna

[And] but

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

يَفْتَرُونَ

yaftarūna

they invent

عَلَى

ʿalā

against

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

ٱلْكَذِبَ ۖ

l-kadhiba

the lie

وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ

wa-aktharuhum

and most of them

لَا

(do) not

يَعْقِلُونَ

yaʿqilūna

use reason

104

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُواْ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ‌ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْــًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ ﴿١٠٤﴾

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

قِيلَ

qīla

it is said

لَهُمْ

lahum

to them

تَعَالَوْا۟

taʿālaw

Come

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

مَآ

what

أَنزَلَ

anzala

has (been) revealed

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

وَإِلَى

wa-ilā

and to

ٱلرَّسُولِ

l-rasūli

the Messenger

قَالُوا۟

qālū

they said

حَسْبُنَا

ḥasbunā

Sufficient for us

مَا

(is) what

وَجَدْنَا

wajadnā

we found

عَلَيْهِ

ʿalayhi

upon it

ءَابَآءَنَآ ۚ

ābāanā

our forefathers

أَوَلَوْ

awalaw

Even though

كَانَ

kāna

(that)

ءَابَآؤُهُمْ

ābāuhum

their forefathers

لَا

(were) not

يَعْلَمُونَ

yaʿlamūna

knowing

شَيْـًۭٔا

shayan

anything

وَلَا

walā

and not

يَهْتَدُونَ

yahtadūna

they (were) guided

105

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ‌ۖ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ‌ۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٠٥﴾

Word-by-word

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

Upon you

أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ

anfusakum

(is to guard) yourselves

لَا

Not

يَضُرُّكُم

yaḍurrukum

will harm you

مَّن

man

(those) who

ضَلَّ

ḍalla

(have gone) astray

إِذَا

idhā

when

ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ ۚ

ih'tadaytum

you have been guided

إِلَى

ilā

To

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

مَرْجِعُكُمْ

marjiʿukum

(is) your return

جَمِيعًۭا

jamīʿan

all

فَيُنَبِّئُكُم

fayunabbi-ukum

then He will inform you

بِمَا

bimā

of what

كُنتُمْ

kuntum

you used to

تَعْمَلُونَ

taʿmalūna

do

106

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ شَهَـٰدَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ حِينَ ٱلْوَصِيَّةِ ٱثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍ مِّنكُمْ أَوْ ءَاخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَصَـٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ‌ۚ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلصَّلَوٲةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ إِنِ ٱرْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَرِى بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ‌ۙ وَلَا نَكْتُمُ شَهَـٰدَةَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْأَثِمِينَ ﴿١٠٦﴾

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe

شَهَـٰدَةُ

shahādatu

(Take) testimony

بَيْنِكُمْ

baynikum

among you

إِذَا

idhā

when

حَضَرَ

ḥaḍara

approaches

أَحَدَكُمُ

aḥadakumu

one of you

ٱلْمَوْتُ

l-mawtu

[the] death

حِينَ

ḥīna

(at the) time (of making)

ٱلْوَصِيَّةِ

l-waṣiyati

[the] a will

ٱثْنَانِ

ith'nāni

two

ذَوَا

dhawā

men

عَدْلٍۢ

ʿadlin

just

مِّنكُمْ

minkum

among you

أَوْ

aw

or

ءَاخَرَانِ

ākharāni

two others

مِنْ

min

from

غَيْرِكُمْ

ghayrikum

other than you

إِنْ

in

if

أَنتُمْ

antum

you

ضَرَبْتُمْ

ḍarabtum

(are) travel(ing)

فِى

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

فَأَصَـٰبَتْكُم

fa-aṣābatkum

then befalls you

مُّصِيبَةُ

muṣībatu

calamity

ٱلْمَوْتِ ۚ

l-mawti

(of) [the] death

تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا

taḥbisūnahumā

Detain both of them

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِ

baʿdi

after

ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ

l-ṣalati

the prayer

فَيُقْسِمَانِ

fayuq'simāni

and let them both swear

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

by Allah

إِنِ

ini

if

ٱرْتَبْتُمْ

ir'tabtum

you doubt

لَا

Not

نَشْتَرِى

nashtarī

we will exchange

بِهِۦ

bihi

it for

ثَمَنًۭا

thamanan

a price

وَلَوْ

walaw

even if

كَانَ

kāna

he is

ذَا

dhā

(of)

قُرْبَىٰ ۙ

qur'bā

a near relative

وَلَا

walā

and not

نَكْتُمُ

naktumu

we will conceal

شَهَـٰدَةَ

shahādata

testimony

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

إِنَّآ

innā

Indeed, we

إِذًۭا

idhan

then

لَّمِنَ

lamina

(will) surely (be) of

ٱلْـَٔاثِمِينَ

l-āthimīna

the sinners

107

فَإِنْ عُثِرَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنَّهُمَا ٱسْتَحَقَّآ إِثْمًا فَـَٔـاخَرَانِ يَقُومَانِ مَقَامَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَوْلَيَـٰنِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ لَشَهَـٰدَتُنَآ أَحَقُّ مِن شَهَـٰدَتِهِمَا وَمَا ٱعْتَدَيْنَآ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٠٧﴾

Word-by-word

فَإِنْ

fa-in

Then if

عُثِرَ

ʿuthira

it is discovered

عَلَىٰٓ

ʿalā

(on)

أَنَّهُمَا

annahumā

that the two

ٱسْتَحَقَّآ

is'taḥaqqā

(were) guilty

إِثْمًۭا

ith'man

(of) sin

فَـَٔاخَرَانِ

faākharāni

then (let) two others

يَقُومَانِ

yaqūmāni

stand

مَقَامَهُمَا

maqāmahumā

(in) their place

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ٱسْتَحَقَّ

is'taḥaqqa

have a lawful right

عَلَيْهِمُ

ʿalayhimu

over them

ٱلْأَوْلَيَـٰنِ

l-awlayāni

the former two

فَيُقْسِمَانِ

fayuq'simāni

and let them both swear

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

by Allah

لَشَهَـٰدَتُنَآ

lashahādatunā

Surely our testimony

أَحَقُّ

aḥaqqu

(is) truer

مِن

min

than

شَهَـٰدَتِهِمَا

shahādatihimā

testimony of the other two

وَمَا

wamā

and not

ٱعْتَدَيْنَآ

iʿ'tadaynā

we have transgressed

إِنَّآ

innā

Indeed, we

إِذًۭا

idhan

then

لَّمِنَ

lamina

(will be) of

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

l-ẓālimīna

the wrongdoers

108

ذَٲلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتُواْ بِٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهَآ أَوْ يَخَافُوٓاْ أَن تُرَدَّ أَيْمَـٰنُۢ بَعْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ‌ۗ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْمَعُواْ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ ﴿١٠٨﴾

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

That

أَدْنَىٰٓ

adnā

(is) closer

أَن

an

that

يَأْتُوا۟

yatū

they will give

بِٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ

bil-shahādati

the testimony

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

in

وَجْهِهَآ

wajhihā

its (true) form

أَوْ

aw

or

يَخَافُوٓا۟

yakhāfū

they would fear

أَن

an

that

تُرَدَّ

turadda

will be refuted

أَيْمَـٰنٌۢ

aymānun

their oaths

بَعْدَ

baʿda

after

أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۗ

aymānihim

their (others) oaths

وَٱتَّقُوا۟

wa-ittaqū

And fear

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ ۗ

wa-is'maʿū

and listen

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

and Allah

لَا

(does) not

يَهْدِى

yahdī

guide

ٱلْقَوْمَ

l-qawma

the people

ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ

l-fāsiqīna

the defiantly disobedient

109

۞ يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أُجِبْتُمْ‌ۖ قَالُواْ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَآ‌ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّـٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ ﴿١٠٩﴾

۞ يَوْمَ

yawma

(The) day

يَجْمَعُ

yajmaʿu

will (be) gathered

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

ٱلرُّسُلَ

l-rusula

the Messengers

فَيَقُولُ

fayaqūlu

and He will say

مَاذَآ

mādhā

What

أُجِبْتُمْ ۖ

ujib'tum

was (the) response you received

قَالُوا۟

qālū

They said

لَا

(There is) no

عِلْمَ

ʿil'ma

knowledge

لَنَآ ۖ

lanā

for us

إِنَّكَ

innaka

Indeed You

أَنتَ

anta

You

عَلَّـٰمُ

ʿallāmu

(are the) Knower

ٱلْغُيُوبِ

l-ghuyūbi

(of) the unseen

110

إِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَـٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ٱذْكُرْ نِعْمَتِى عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ وَٲلِدَتِكَ إِذْ أَيَّدتُّكَ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ تُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلاً‌ۖ وَإِذْ عَلَّمْتُكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَٮٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ‌ۖ وَإِذْ تَخْلُقُ مِنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْــَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ بِإِذْنِى فَتَنفُخُ فِيهَا فَتَكُونُ طَيْرَۢا بِإِذْنِى‌ۖ وَتُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ بِإِذْنِى‌ۖ وَإِذْ تُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِى‌ۖ وَإِذْ كَفَفْتُ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ عَنكَ إِذْ جِئْتَهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنْهُمْ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿١١٠﴾

يَـٰعِيسَى

yāʿīsā

O Isa

ٱبْنَ

ib'na

مَرْيَمَ

maryama

(of) Maryam

ٱذْكُرْ

udh'kur

Remember

نِعْمَتِى

niʿ'matī

My Favor

عَلَيْكَ

ʿalayka

upon you

وَعَلَىٰ

waʿalā

and upon

وَٰلِدَتِكَ

wālidatika

your mother

إِذْ

idh

when

أَيَّدتُّكَ

ayyadttuka

I strengthened you

بِرُوحِ

birūḥi

with (the) Spirit

ٱلْقُدُسِ

l-qudusi

the Holy

تُكَلِّمُ

tukallimu

you spoke

ٱلنَّاسَ

l-nāsa

(to) the people

فِى

in

ٱلْمَهْدِ

l-mahdi

the cradle

وَكَهْلًۭا ۖ

wakahlan

and (in) maturity

وَإِذْ

wa-idh

And when

عَلَّمْتُكَ

ʿallamtuka

I taught you

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

l-kitāba

the Book

وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ

wal-ḥik'mata

and the wisdom

وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ

wal-tawrāta

and the Taurat

وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ ۖ

wal-injīla

and the Injeel

وَإِذْ

wa-idh

and when

تَخْلُقُ

takhluqu

you make

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلطِّينِ

l-ṭīni

the clay

كَهَيْـَٔةِ

kahayati

like the shape

ٱلطَّيْرِ

l-ṭayri

(of) the bird

بِإِذْنِى

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

فَتَنفُخُ

fatanfukhu

then you breath

فِيهَا

fīhā

into it

فَتَكُونُ

fatakūnu

and it becomes

طَيْرًۢا

ṭayran

a bird

بِإِذْنِى ۖ

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

وَتُبْرِئُ

watub'ri-u

and you heal

ٱلْأَكْمَهَ

l-akmaha

the born blind

وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ

wal-abraṣa

and the leper

بِإِذْنِى ۖ

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

وَإِذْ

wa-idh

and when

تُخْرِجُ

tukh'riju

you bring forth

ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

l-mawtā

the dead

بِإِذْنِى ۖ

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

وَإِذْ

wa-idh

And when

كَفَفْتُ

kafaftu

I restrained

بَنِىٓ

banī

(the) Children

إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

is'rāīla

(of) Israel

عَنكَ

ʿanka

from you

إِذْ

idh

when

جِئْتَهُم

ji'tahum

you came to them

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ

bil-bayināti

with the clear proofs

فَقَالَ

faqāla

then said

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

مِنْهُمْ

min'hum

among them

إِنْ

in

Not

هَـٰذَآ

hādhā

(is) this

إِلَّا

illā

but

سِحْرٌۭ

siḥ'run

magic

مُّبِينٌۭ

mubīnun

clear

111

وَإِذْ أَوْحَيْتُ إِلَى ٱلْحَوَارِيِّــۧنَ أَنْ ءَامِنُواْ بِى وَبِرَسُولِى قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّنَا مُسْلِمُونَ ﴿١١١﴾

Word-by-word

وَإِذْ

wa-idh

And when

أَوْحَيْتُ

awḥaytu

I inspired

إِلَى

ilā

to

ٱلْحَوَارِيِّـۧنَ

l-ḥawāriyīna

the disciples

أَنْ

an

to

ءَامِنُوا۟

āminū

believe

بِى

in Me

وَبِرَسُولِى

wabirasūlī

and in My Messenger

قَالُوٓا۟

qālū

they said

ءَامَنَّا

āmannā

We believe

وَٱشْهَدْ

wa-ish'had

and bear witness

بِأَنَّنَا

bi-annanā

that indeed we

مُسْلِمُونَ

mus'limūna

(are) Muslims

112

إِذْ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ يَـٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ هَلْ يَسْتَطِيعُ رَبُّكَ أَن يُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا مَآئِدَةً مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ‌ۖ قَالَ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١١٢﴾

يَـٰعِيسَى

O Isa

ٱبْنَ

هَلْ

Is

يَسْتَطِيعُ

yastaṭīʿu

able

رَبُّكَ

rabbuka

your Lord

أَن

an

to

يُنَزِّلَ

yunazzila

send down

عَلَيْنَا

ʿalaynā

to us

مَآئِدَةًۭ

māidatan

a table spread

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۖ

l-samāi

the heaven

قَالَ

qāla

He said

ٱتَّقُوا۟

ittaqū

Fear

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

إِن

in

if

كُنتُم

kuntum

you are

مُّؤْمِنِينَ

mu'minīna

believers

113

قَالُواْ نُرِيدُ أَن نَّأْكُلَ مِنْهَا وَتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُنَا وَنَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ صَدَقْتَنَا وَنَكُونَ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ ﴿١١٣﴾

قَالُوا۟

qālū

They said

نُرِيدُ

nurīdu

We wish

أَن

an

that

نَّأْكُلَ

nakula

we eat

مِنْهَا

min'hā

from it

وَتَطْمَئِنَّ

wataṭma-inna

and satisfy

قُلُوبُنَا

qulūbunā

our hearts

وَنَعْلَمَ

wanaʿlama

and we know

أَن

an

that

قَدْ

qad

certainly

صَدَقْتَنَا

ṣadaqtanā

you have spoken the truth to us

وَنَكُونَ

wanakūna

and we be

عَلَيْهَا

ʿalayhā

over it

مِنَ

mina

among

ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ

l-shāhidīna

the witnesses

114

قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ ٱللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَآ أَنزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَآئِدَةً مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدًا لِّأَوَّلِنَا وَءَاخِرِنَا وَءَايَةً مِّنكَ‌ۖ وَٱرْزُقْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٲزِقِينَ ﴿١١٤﴾

and a sign

مِّنكَ ۖ

from You

وَٱرْزُقْنَا

wa-ur'zuq'nā

And provide us

وَأَنتَ

wa-anta

and You

خَيْرُ

khayru

(are) best

ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

l-rāziqīna

(of) the providers

115

قَالَ ٱللَّهُ إِنِّى مُنَزِّلُهَا عَلَيْكُمْ‌ۖ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بَعْدُ مِنكُمْ فَإِنِّىٓ أُعَذِّبُهُۥ عَذَابًا لَّآ أُعَذِّبُهُۥٓ أَحَدًا مِّنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١١٥﴾

[I] will punish him

عَذَابًۭا

ʿadhāban

(with) a punishment

لَّآ

not

أُعَذِّبُهُۥٓ

uʿadhibuhu

I have punished

أَحَدًۭا

aḥadan

anyone

مِّنَ

mina

among

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

l-ʿālamīna

the worlds

116

وَإِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَـٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِى وَأُمِّىَ إِلَـٰهَيْنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ قَالَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِحَقٍّ‌ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلْتُهُۥ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُۥ‌ۚ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِى وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِكَ‌ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّـٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ ﴿١١٦﴾

دُونِ

besides

ٱللَّهِ ۖ

l-lahi

Allah

قَالَ

He said

سُبْحَـٰنَكَ

sub'ḥānaka

Glory be to You

مَا

Not

يَكُونُ

yakūnu

was

لِىٓ

for me

أَنْ

an

that

أَقُولَ

aqūla

I say

مَا

what

لَيْسَ

laysa

not

لِى

I

بِحَقٍّ ۚ

biḥaqqin

(had) right

إِن

in

If

كُنتُ

kuntu

I had

قُلْتُهُۥ

qul'tuhu

said it

فَقَدْ

faqad

then surely

عَلِمْتَهُۥ ۚ

ʿalim'tahu

You would have known it

تَعْلَمُ

taʿlamu

You know

مَا

what

فِى

(is) in

نَفْسِى

nafsī

myself

وَلَآ

walā

and not

أَعْلَمُ

aʿlamu

I know

مَا

what

فِى

(is) in

نَفْسِكَ ۚ

nafsika

Yourself

إِنَّكَ

innaka

Indeed, You

أَنتَ

anta

You

عَلَّـٰمُ

ʿallāmu

(are) All-Knower

ٱلْغُيُوبِ

l-ghuyūbi

(of) the unseen

117

مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرْتَنِى بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ‌ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ‌ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ‌ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ ﴿١١٧﴾

تَوَفَّيْتَنِى

tawaffaytanī

You raised me

كُنتَ

kunta

You were

أَنتَ

anta

[You]

ٱلرَّقِيبَ

l-raqība

the Watcher

عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ

ʿalayhim

over them

وَأَنتَ

wa-anta

and You

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

(are) on

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَىْءٍۢ

shayin

thing

شَهِيدٌ

shahīdun

a Witness

118

إِن تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ‌ۖ وَإِن تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿١١٨﴾

119

قَالَ ٱللَّهُ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنفَعُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ‌ۚ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا‌ۚ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُواْ عَنْهُ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ﴿١١٩﴾

جَنَّـٰتٌۭ

jannātun

(are) Gardens

تَجْرِى

tajrī

flows

مِن

تَحْتِهَا

taḥtihā

underneath it

ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ

l-anhāru

the rivers

خَـٰلِدِينَ

khālidīna

will abide

فِيهَآ

fīhā

in it

أَبَدًۭا ۚ

abadan

forever

رَّضِىَ

raḍiya

is pleased

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَنْهُمْ

ʿanhum

with them

وَرَضُوا۟

waraḍū

and they are pleased

عَنْهُ ۚ

ʿanhu

with Him

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

That

ٱلْفَوْزُ

l-fawzu

(is) the success

ٱلْعَظِيمُ

l-ʿaẓīmu

(the) great

120

لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ‌ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرُۢ ﴿١٢٠﴾
