Al-Hadid

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

And certainly

أَرْسَلْنَا

arsalnā

We sent

نُوحًۭا

nūḥan

Nuh

وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ

wa-ib'rāhīma

and Ibrahim

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

and We placed

فِى

fī

in

ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا

dhurriyyatihimā

their offspring

ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ

l-nubuwata

Prophethood

وَٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۖ

wal-kitāba

and the Scripture

فَمِنْهُم

famin'hum

and among them

مُّهْتَدٍۢ ۖ

muh'tadin

(is) a guided one

وَكَثِيرٌۭ

wakathīrun

but most

مِّنْهُمْ

min'hum

of them

فَـٰسِقُونَ

fāsiqūna

(are) defiantly disobediently

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

قَفَّيْنَا

qaffaynā

We sent

عَلَىٰٓ

ʿalā

on

ءَاثَـٰرِهِم

āthārihim

their footsteps

بِرُسُلِنَا

birusulinā

Our Messengers

وَقَفَّيْنَا

waqaffaynā

and We followed

بِعِيسَى

biʿīsā

with Isa

ٱبْنِ

ib'ni

son

مَرْيَمَ

maryama

(of) Maryam

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ

waātaynāhu

and We gave him

ٱلْإِنجِيلَ

l-injīla

the Injeel

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

And We placed

فِى

fī

in

قُلُوبِ

qulūbi

(the) hearts

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

(of) those who

ٱتَّبَعُوهُ

ittabaʿūhu

followed him

رَأْفَةًۭ

rafatan

compassion

وَرَحْمَةًۭ

waraḥmatan

and mercy

وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً

warahbāniyyatan

But monasticism

ٱبْتَدَعُوهَا

ib'tadaʿūhā

they innovated

مَا

mā

not

كَتَبْنَـٰهَا

katabnāhā

We prescribed it

عَلَيْهِمْ

ʿalayhim

for them

إِلَّا

illā

only

ٱبْتِغَآءَ

ib'tighāa

seeking

رِضْوَٰنِ

riḍ'wāni

(the) pleasure

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

فَمَا

famā

but not

رَعَوْهَا

raʿawhā

they observed it

حَقَّ

ḥaqqa

(with) right

رِعَايَتِهَا ۖ

riʿāyatihā

observance

فَـَٔاتَيْنَا

faātaynā

So We gave

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believed

مِنْهُمْ

min'hum

among them

أَجْرَهُمْ ۖ

ajrahum

their reward

وَكَثِيرٌۭ

wakathīrun

but most

مِّنْهُمْ

min'hum

of them

فَـٰسِقُونَ

fāsiqūna

(are) defiantly disobediently

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O you who believe

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

O you who believe

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

O you who believe

ٱتَّقُوا۟

ittaqū

Fear

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

وَءَامِنُوا۟

waāminū

and believe

بِرَسُولِهِۦ

birasūlihi

in His Messenger

يُؤْتِكُمْ

yu'tikum

He will give you

كِفْلَيْنِ

kif'layni

double portion

مِن

min

of

رَّحْمَتِهِۦ

raḥmatihi

His Mercy

وَيَجْعَل

wayajʿal

and He will make

لَّكُمْ

lakum

for you

نُورًۭا

nūran

a light

تَمْشُونَ

tamshūna

you will walk

بِهِۦ

bihi

with it

وَيَغْفِرْ

wayaghfir

and He will forgive

لَكُمْ ۚ

lakum

you

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

And Allah

غَفُورٌۭ

ghafūrun

(is) Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمٌۭ

raḥīmun

Most Merciful

لِّئَلَّا

li-allā

So that

يَعْلَمَ

yaʿlama

may know

أَهْلُ

ahlu

(the) People

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

(of) the Book

أَلَّا

allā

that not

يَقْدِرُونَ

yaqdirūna

they have power

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

over

شَىْءٍۢ

shayin

anything

مِّن

min

from

فَضْلِ

faḍli

(the) Bounty

ٱللَّهِ ۙ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَأَنَّ

wa-anna

and that

ٱلْفَضْلَ

l-faḍla

the Bounty

بِيَدِ

biyadi

(is) in Allah's Hand

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(is) in Allah's Hand

يُؤْتِيهِ

yu'tīhi

He gives it

مَن

man

whom

يَشَآءُ ۚ

yashāu

He wills

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

And Allah

ذُو

dhū

(is) the Possessor of Bounty

ٱلْفَضْلِ

l-faḍli

(is) the Possessor of Bounty

ٱلْعَظِيمِ

l-ʿaẓīmi

the Great
