بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ ﴿١﴾
Mot à mot
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O you
ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ
l-mudathiru
who covers himself
قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ ﴿٢﴾
Mot à mot
قُمْ
qum
Stand up
فَأَنذِرْ
fa-andhir
and warn
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ ﴿٣﴾
Mot à mot
وَرَبَّكَ
warabbaka
And your Lord
فَكَبِّرْ
fakabbir
magnify
وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ ﴿٤﴾
Mot à mot
وَثِيَابَكَ
wathiyābaka
And your clothing
فَطَهِّرْ
faṭahhir
purify
وَٱلرُّجْزَ فَٱهْجُرْ ﴿٥﴾
Mot à mot
وَٱلرُّجْزَ
wal-ruj'za
And uncleanliness
فَٱهْجُرْ
fa-uh'jur
avoid
وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ ﴿٦﴾
Mot à mot
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَمْنُن
tamnun
confer favor
تَسْتَكْثِرُ
tastakthiru
(to) acquire more
وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصْبِرْ ﴿٧﴾
Mot à mot
وَلِرَبِّكَ
walirabbika
And for your Lord
فَٱصْبِرْ
fa-iṣ'bir
be patient
فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِى ٱلنَّاقُورِ ﴿٨﴾

فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
Then when
نُقِرَ
nuqira
is blown
فِى
fī
in
ٱلنَّاقُورِ
l-nāqūri
the trumpet
فَذَٲلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ ﴿٩﴾

فَذَٰلِكَ
fadhālika
That
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ
yawma-idhin
Day
يَوْمٌ
yawmun
(will be) a Day
عَسِيرٌ
ʿasīrun
difficult
عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ ﴿١٠﴾

عَلَى
ʿalā
For
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
غَيْرُ
ghayru
not
يَسِيرٍۢ
yasīrin
easy
ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا ﴿١١﴾
Mot à mot
ذَرْنِى
dharnī
Leave Me
وَمَنْ
waman
and whom
خَلَقْتُ
khalaqtu
I created
وَحِيدًۭا
waḥīdan
alone
وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالاً مَّمْدُودًا ﴿١٢﴾

وَجَعَلْتُ
wajaʿaltu
And I granted
لَهُۥ
lahu
to him
مَالًۭا
mālan
wealth
مَّمْدُودًۭا
mamdūdan
extensive
وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا ﴿١٣﴾
Mot à mot
وَبَنِينَ
wabanīna
And children
شُهُودًۭا
shuhūdan
present
وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًا ﴿١٤﴾
Mot à mot
وَمَهَّدتُّ
wamahhadttu
And I spread
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
تَمْهِيدًۭا
tamhīdan
ease
ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ ﴿١٥﴾
Mot à mot
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
يَطْمَعُ
yaṭmaʿu
he desires
أَنْ
an
that
أَزِيدَ
azīda
I (should) add more
كَلَّآۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِأَيَـٰتِنَا عَنِيدًا ﴿١٦﴾

كَلَّآ ۖ
kallā
By no means
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
كَانَ
kāna
has been
لِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
liāyātinā
to Our Verses
عَنِيدًۭا
ʿanīdan
stubborn
سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا ﴿١٧﴾
Mot à mot
سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ
sa-ur'hiquhu
Soon I will cover Him
صَعُودًا
ṣaʿūdan
(with) a laborious punishment
إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ ﴿١٨﴾
Mot à mot
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
فَكَّرَ
fakkara
thought
وَقَدَّرَ
waqaddara
and plotted
فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ﴿١٩﴾
Mot à mot
فَقُتِلَ
faqutila
So may he be destroyed
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
قَدَّرَ
qaddara
he plotted
ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ﴿٢٠﴾

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
قُتِلَ
qutila
may he be destroyed
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
قَدَّرَ
qaddara
he plotted
ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ﴿٢١﴾

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
نَظَرَ
naẓara
he looked
ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ ﴿٢٢﴾

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
عَبَسَ
ʿabasa
he frowned
وَبَسَرَ
wabasara
and scowled
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ ﴿٢٣﴾

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
أَدْبَرَ
adbara
he turned back
وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ
wa-is'takbara
and was proud
فَقَالَ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ ﴿٢٤﴾

فَقَالَ
faqāla
Then he said
إِنْ

هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
(is) this
إِلَّا
illā
but
سِحْرٌۭ
siḥ'run

يُؤْثَرُ

إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ ﴿٢٥﴾
