An-Nissa

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

ulāika

Those

هُمُ

humu

they

ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ

l-kāfirūna

(are) the disbelievers

حَقًّۭا ۚ

ḥaqqan

truly

وَأَعْتَدْنَا

wa-aʿtadnā

And We have prepared

لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

lil'kāfirīna

for the disbelievers

عَذَابًۭا

ʿadhāban

a punishment

مُّهِينًۭا

muhīnan

humiliating

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhīna

And those who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَرُسُلِهِۦ

warusulihi

and His Messengers

وَلَمْ

walam

and not

يُفَرِّقُوا۟

yufarriqū

they differentiate

بَيْنَ

bayna

between

أَحَدٍۢ

aḥadin

(any) one

مِّنْهُمْ

min'hum

of them

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

ulāika

those

سَوْفَ

sawfa

soon

يُؤْتِيهِمْ

yu'tīhim

He will give them

أُجُورَهُمْ ۗ

ujūrahum

their reward

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

غَفُورًۭا

ghafūran

Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمًۭا

raḥīman

Most Merciful

يَسْـَٔلُكَ

yasaluka

Ask you

أَهْلُ

ahlu

(the) People

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

(of) the Book

أَن

an

that

تُنَزِّلَ

tunazzila

you bring down

عَلَيْهِمْ

ʿalayhim

to them

كِتَـٰبًۭا

kitāban

a book

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۚ

l-samāi

the heaven

فَقَدْ

faqad

Then indeed

سَأَلُوا۟

sa-alū

they (had) asked

مُوسَىٰٓ

mūsā

Musa

أَكْبَرَ

akbara

greater

مِن

min

than

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

that

فَقَالُوٓا۟

faqālū

for they said

أَرِنَا

arinā

Show us

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

جَهْرَةًۭ

jahratan

manifestly

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ

fa-akhadhathumu

so struck them

ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ

l-ṣāʿiqatu

the thunderbolt

بِظُلْمِهِمْ ۚ

biẓul'mihim

for their wrongdoing

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

ٱتَّخَذُوا۟

ittakhadhū

they took

ٱلْعِجْلَ

l-ʿij'la

the calf (for worship)

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِ

baʿdi

after

مَا

mā

[what]

جَآءَتْهُمُ

jāathumu

came to them

ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ

l-bayinātu

the clear proofs

فَعَفَوْنَا

faʿafawnā

then We forgave them

عَن

ʿan

for

ذَٰلِكَ ۚ

dhālika

that

وَءَاتَيْنَا

waātaynā

And We gave

مُوسَىٰ

mūsā

Musa

سُلْطَـٰنًۭا

sul'ṭānan

an authority

مُّبِينًۭا

mubīnan

clear

وَرَفَعْنَا

warafaʿnā

And We raised

فَوْقَهُمُ

fawqahumu

over them

ٱلطُّورَ

l-ṭūra

the mount

بِمِيثَـٰقِهِمْ

bimīthāqihim

for their covenant

وَقُلْنَا

waqul'nā

and We said

لَهُمُ

lahumu

to them

ٱدْخُلُوا۟

ud'khulū

Enter

ٱلْبَابَ

l-bāba

the gate

سُجَّدًۭا

sujjadan

prostrating

وَقُلْنَا

waqul'nā

And We said

لَهُمْ

lahum

to them

لَا

lā

(Do) not

تَعْدُوا۟

taʿdū

transgress

فِى

fī

in

ٱلسَّبْتِ

l-sabti

the Sabbath

وَأَخَذْنَا

wa-akhadhnā

And We took

مِنْهُم

min'hum

from them

مِّيثَـٰقًا

mīthāqan

a covenant

غَلِيظًۭا

ghalīẓan

solemn

فَبِمَا

fabimā

Then because of

نَقْضِهِم

naqḍihim

their breaking

مِّيثَـٰقَهُمْ

mīthāqahum

(of) their covenant

وَكُفْرِهِم

wakuf'rihim

and their disbelief

بِـَٔايَـٰتِ

biāyāti

in (the) Signs

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَقَتْلِهِمُ

waqatlihimu

and their killing

ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ

l-anbiyāa

(of) the Prophets

بِغَيْرِ

bighayri

without

حَقٍّۢ

ḥaqqin

any right

وَقَوْلِهِمْ

waqawlihim

and their saying

قُلُوبُنَا

qulūbunā

Our hearts

غُلْفٌۢ ۚ

ghul'fun

(are) wrapped

بَلْ

bal

Nay

طَبَعَ

ṭabaʿa

(has) set a seal

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَلَيْهَا

ʿalayhā

on their (hearts)

بِكُفْرِهِمْ

bikuf'rihim

for their disbelief

فَلَا

falā

so not

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

they believe

إِلَّا

illā

except

قَلِيلًۭا

qalīlan

a few

وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ

wabikuf'rihim

And for their disbelief

وَقَوْلِهِمْ

waqawlihim

and their saying

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

against

مَرْيَمَ

maryama

Maryam

بُهْتَـٰنًا

buh'tānan

a slander

عَظِيمًۭا

ʿaẓīman

great

وَقَوْلِهِمْ

waqawlihim

And for their saying

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, we

قَتَلْنَا

qatalnā

killed

ٱلْمَسِيحَ

l-masīḥa

the Messiah

عِيسَى

ʿīsā

Isa

ٱبْنَ

ib'na

son

مَرْيَمَ

maryama

(of) Maryam

رَسُولَ

rasūla

(the) Messenger

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَمَا

wamā

And not

قَتَلُوهُ

qatalūhu

they killed him

وَمَا

wamā

and not

صَلَبُوهُ

ṣalabūhu

they crucified him

وَلَـٰكِن

walākin

but

شُبِّهَ

shubbiha

it was made to appear (so)

لَهُمْ ۚ

lahum

to them

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟

ikh'talafū

differ

فِيهِ

fīhi

in it

لَفِى

lafī

(are) surely in

شَكٍّۢ

shakkin

doubt

مِّنْهُ ۚ

min'hu

about it

مَا

mā

Not

لَهُم

lahum

for them

بِهِۦ

bihi

about it

مِنْ

min

[of]

عِلْمٍ

ʿil'min

(any) knowledge

إِلَّا

illā

except

ٱتِّبَاعَ

ittibāʿa

(the) following

ٱلظَّنِّ ۚ

l-ẓani

(of) assumption

وَمَا

wamā

And not

قَتَلُوهُ

qatalūhu

they killed him

يَقِينًۢا

yaqīnan

certainly

بَل

bal

Nay

رَّفَعَهُ

rafaʿahu

he was raised

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

إِلَيْهِ ۚ

ilayhi

towards Him

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَزِيزًا

ʿazīzan

All-Mighty

حَكِيمًۭا

ḥakīman

All-Wise

وَإِن

wa-in

And (there is) not

مِّنْ

min

from

أَهْلِ

ahli

(the) People

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

(of) the Book

إِلَّا

illā

but

لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ

layu'minanna

surely he believes

بِهِۦ

bihi

in him

قَبْلَ

qabla

before

مَوْتِهِۦ ۖ

mawtihi

his death

وَيَوْمَ

wayawma

And (on the) Day

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

l-qiyāmati

(of) the Resurrection

يَكُونُ

yakūnu

he will be

عَلَيْهِمْ

ʿalayhim

against them

شَهِيدًۭا

shahīdan

a witness

فَبِظُلْمٍۢ

fabiẓul'min

Then for (the) wrongdoing

مِّنَ

mina

of

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

هَادُوا۟

hādū

were Jews

حَرَّمْنَا

ḥarramnā

We made unlawful

عَلَيْهِمْ

ʿalayhim

for them

طَيِّبَـٰتٍ

ṭayyibātin

good things

أُحِلَّتْ

uḥillat

which had been lawful

لَهُمْ

lahum

for them

وَبِصَدِّهِمْ

wabiṣaddihim

and for their hindering

عَن

ʿan

from

سَبِيلِ

sabīli

(the) way

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

كَثِيرًۭا

kathīran

many

وَأَخْذِهِمُ

wa-akhdhihimu

And for their taking

ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟

l-riba

(of) [the] usury

وَقَدْ

waqad

while certainly

نُهُوا۟

nuhū

they were forbidden

عَنْهُ

ʿanhu

from it

وَأَكْلِهِمْ

wa-aklihim

and (for) their consuming

أَمْوَٰلَ

amwāla

wealth

ٱلنَّاسِ

l-nāsi

(of) the people

بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ ۚ

bil-bāṭili

wrongfully

وَأَعْتَدْنَا

wa-aʿtadnā

And We have prepared

لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

lil'kāfirīna

for the disbelievers

مِنْهُمْ

min'hum

among them

عَذَابًا

ʿadhāban

a punishment

أَلِيمًۭا

alīman

painful

لَّـٰكِنِ

lākini

But

ٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ

l-rāsikhūna

the ones who are firm

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْعِلْمِ

l-ʿil'mi

the knowledge

مِنْهُمْ

min'hum

among them

وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

wal-mu'minūna

and the believers

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

believe

بِمَآ

bimā

in what

أُنزِلَ

unzila

(is) revealed

إِلَيْكَ

ilayka

to you

وَمَآ

wamā

and what

أُنزِلَ

unzila

was revealed

مِن

min

from

قَبْلِكَ ۚ

qablika

before you

وَٱلْمُقِيمِينَ

wal-muqīmīna

And the ones who establish

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۚ

l-ṣalata

the prayer

وَٱلْمُؤْتُونَ

wal-mu'tūna

and the ones who give

ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ

l-zakata

the zakah

وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

wal-mu'minūna

and the ones who believe

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَٱلْيَوْمِ

wal-yawmi

and the Day

ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ

l-ākhiri

the Last

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

ulāika

those

سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ

sanu'tīhim

We will give them

أَجْرًا

ajran

a reward

عَظِيمًا

ʿaẓīman

great

۞ إِنَّآ

innā

Indeed, We

أَوْحَيْنَآ

awḥaynā

have revealed

إِلَيْكَ

ilayka

to you

كَمَآ

kamā

as

أَوْحَيْنَآ

awḥaynā

We revealed

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

نُوحٍۢ

nūḥin

Nuh

وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ

wal-nabiyīna

and the Prophets

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِهِۦ ۚ

baʿdihi

after him

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ

wa-awḥaynā

and We revealed

إِلَىٰٓ

ilā

to

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

ib'rāhīma

Ibrahim

وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ

wa-is'māʿīla

and Ishmael

وَإِسْحَـٰقَ

wa-is'ḥāqa

and Isaac

وَيَعْقُوبَ

wayaʿqūba

and Yaqub

وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ

wal-asbāṭi

and the tribes

وَعِيسَىٰ

waʿīsā

and Isa

وَأَيُّوبَ

wa-ayyūba

and Ayyub

وَيُونُسَ

wayūnusa

and Yunus

وَهَـٰرُونَ

wahārūna

and Harun

وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ ۚ

wasulaymāna

and Sulaiman

وَءَاتَيْنَا

waātaynā

and We gave

دَاوُۥدَ

dāwūda

(to) Dawood

زَبُورًۭا

zabūran

the Zaboor

وَرُسُلًۭا

warusulan

And Messengers

قَدْ

qad

surely

قَصَصْنَـٰهُمْ

qaṣaṣnāhum

We (have) mentioned them

عَلَيْكَ

ʿalayka

to you

مِن

min

from

قَبْلُ

qablu

before

وَرُسُلًۭا

warusulan

and Messengers

لَّمْ

lam

not

نَقْصُصْهُمْ

naqṣuṣ'hum

We (have) mentioned them

عَلَيْكَ ۚ

ʿalayka

to you

وَكَلَّمَ

wakallama

And spoke

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

مُوسَىٰ

mūsā

(to) Musa

تَكْلِيمًۭا

taklīman

(in a) conversation

رُّسُلًۭا

rusulan

Messengers

مُّبَشِّرِينَ

mubashirīna

bearers of glad tidings

وَمُنذِرِينَ

wamundhirīna

and warners

لِئَلَّا

li-allā

so that not

يَكُونَ

yakūna

there is

لِلنَّاسِ

lilnnāsi

for mankind

عَلَى

ʿalā

against

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

حُجَّةٌۢ

ḥujjatun

any argument

بَعْدَ

baʿda

after

ٱلرُّسُلِ ۚ

l-rusuli

the Messengers

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَزِيزًا

ʿazīzan

All-Mighty

حَكِيمًۭا

ḥakīman

All-Wise

لَّـٰكِنِ

lākini

But

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

يَشْهَدُ

yashhadu

bears witness

بِمَآ

bimā

to what

أَنزَلَ

anzala

He (has) revealed

إِلَيْكَ ۖ

ilayka

to you

أَنزَلَهُۥ

anzalahu

He has sent it down

بِعِلْمِهِۦ ۖ

biʿil'mihi

with His Knowledge

وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ

wal-malāikatu

and the Angels

يَشْهَدُونَ ۚ

yashhadūna

bear witness

وَكَفَىٰ

wakafā

And is sufficient

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

Allah

شَهِيدًا

shahīdan

(as) a Witness

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieve

وَصَدُّوا۟

waṣaddū

and hinder

عَن

ʿan

from

سَبِيلِ

sabīli

(the) way

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

قَدْ

qad

surely

ضَلُّوا۟

ḍallū

they have strayed

ضَلَـٰلًۢا

ḍalālan

straying

بَعِيدًا

baʿīdan

far away

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

وَظَلَمُوا۟

waẓalamū

and did wrong

لَمْ

lam

not

يَكُنِ

yakuni

will

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

لِيَغْفِرَ

liyaghfira

[to] forgive

لَهُمْ

lahum

them

وَلَا

walā

and not

لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ

liyahdiyahum

He will guide them

طَرِيقًا

ṭarīqan

(to) a way

إِلَّا

illā

Except

طَرِيقَ

ṭarīqa

(the) way

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

(to) Hell

خَـٰلِدِينَ

khālidīna

abiding

فِيهَآ

fīhā

in it

أَبَدًۭا ۚ

abadan

forever

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

that

عَلَى

ʿalā

for

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

يَسِيرًۭا

yasīran

easy

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O

ٱلنَّاسُ

l-nāsu

mankind

قَدْ

qad

Surely

جَآءَكُمُ

jāakumu

has come to you

ٱلرَّسُولُ

l-rasūlu

the Messenger

بِٱلْحَقِّ

bil-ḥaqi

with the truth

مِن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ

rabbikum

your Lord

فَـَٔامِنُوا۟

faāminū

so believe

خَيْرًۭا

khayran

(it is) better

لَّكُمْ ۚ

lakum

for you

وَإِن

wa-in

But if

تَكْفُرُوا۟

takfurū

you disbelieve

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

to Allah (belongs)

مَا

mā

whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ

wal-arḍi

and the earth

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَلِيمًا

ʿalīman

All-Knowing

حَكِيمًۭا

ḥakīman

All-Wise

يَـٰٓأَهْلَ

yāahla

O People

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

(of) the Book

لَا

lā

(Do) not

تَغْلُوا۟

taghlū

commit excess

فِى

fī

in

دِينِكُمْ

dīnikum

your religion

وَلَا

walā

and (do) not

تَقُولُوا۟

taqūlū

say

عَلَى

ʿalā

about

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

إِلَّا

illā

except

ٱلْحَقَّ ۚ

l-ḥaqa

the truth

إِنَّمَا

innamā

Only

ٱلْمَسِيحُ

l-masīḥu

the Messiah

عِيسَى

ʿīsā

Isa

ٱبْنُ

ub'nu

son

مَرْيَمَ

maryama

(of) Maryam

رَسُولُ

rasūlu

(was) a Messenger

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ

wakalimatuhu

and His word

أَلْقَىٰهَآ

alqāhā

which He conveyed

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

مَرْيَمَ

maryama

Maryam

وَرُوحٌۭ

warūḥun

and a spirit

مِّنْهُ ۖ

min'hu

from Him

فَـَٔامِنُوا۟

faāminū

So believe

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۖ

warusulihi

and His Messengers

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تَقُولُوا۟

taqūlū

say

ثَلَـٰثَةٌ ۚ

thalāthatun

Three

ٱنتَهُوا۟

intahū

desist

خَيْرًۭا

khayran

(it is) better

لَّكُمْ ۚ

lakum

for you

إِنَّمَا

innamā

Only

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

إِلَـٰهٌۭ

ilāhun

(is) God

وَٰحِدٌۭ ۖ

wāḥidun

One

سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ

sub'ḥānahu

Glory be to Him

أَن

an

That

يَكُونَ

yakūna

He (should) have

لَهُۥ

lahu

for Him

وَلَدٌۭ ۘ

waladun

a son

لَّهُۥ

lahu

To Him (belongs)

مَا

mā

whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَمَا

wamā

and whatever

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ

l-arḍi

the earth

وَكَفَىٰ

wakafā

And is sufficient

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

Allah

وَكِيلًۭا

wakīlan

(as) a Disposer of affairs

لَّن

lan

Never

يَسْتَنكِفَ

yastankifa

will disdain

ٱلْمَسِيحُ

l-masīḥu

the Messiah

أَن

an

to

يَكُونَ

yakūna

be

عَبْدًۭا

ʿabdan

a slave

لِّلَّهِ

lillahi

of Allah

وَلَا

walā

and not

ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ

l-malāikatu

the Angels

ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ۚ

l-muqarabūna

the ones who are near (to Allah)

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يَسْتَنكِفْ

yastankif

disdains

عَنْ

ʿan

from

عِبَادَتِهِۦ

ʿibādatihi

His worship

وَيَسْتَكْبِرْ

wayastakbir

and is arrogant

فَسَيَحْشُرُهُمْ

fasayaḥshuruhum

then He will gather them

إِلَيْهِ

ilayhi

towards Him

جَمِيعًۭا

jamīʿan

all together

فَأَمَّا

fa-ammā

Then as for

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believed

وَعَمِلُوا۟

waʿamilū

and did

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ

l-ṣāliḥāti

the righteous deeds

فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ

fayuwaffīhim

then He will give them in full

أُجُورَهُمْ

ujūrahum

their reward

وَيَزِيدُهُم

wayazīduhum

and give them more

مِّن

min

from

فَضْلِهِۦ ۖ

faḍlihi

His Bounty

وَأَمَّا

wa-ammā

And as for

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ٱسْتَنكَفُوا۟

is'tankafū

disdained

وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟

wa-is'takbarū

and were arrogant

فَيُعَذِّبُهُمْ

fayuʿadhibuhum

then He will punish them

عَذَابًا

ʿadhāban

(with) a punishment

أَلِيمًۭا

alīman

painful

وَلَا

walā

and not

يَجِدُونَ

yajidūna

will they find

لَهُم

lahum

for themselves

مِّن

min

from

دُونِ

dūni

besides

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

وَلِيًّۭا

waliyyan

any protector

وَلَا

walā

and not

نَصِيرًۭا

naṣīran

any helper

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O

ٱلنَّاسُ

l-nāsu

mankind

قَدْ

qad

Surely

جَآءَكُم

jāakum

has come to you

بُرْهَـٰنٌۭ

bur'hānun

a convincing proof

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ

rabbikum

your Lord

وَأَنزَلْنَآ

wa-anzalnā

and We (have) sent down

إِلَيْكُمْ

ilaykum

to you

نُورًۭا

nūran

a light

مُّبِينًۭا

mubīnan

clear

فَأَمَّا

fa-ammā

So as for

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believed

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

in Allah

وَٱعْتَصَمُوا۟

wa-iʿ'taṣamū

and held fast

بِهِۦ

bihi

to Him

فَسَيُدْخِلُهُمْ

fasayud'khiluhum

then He will admit them

فِى

fī

in

رَحْمَةٍۢ

raḥmatin

Mercy

مِّنْهُ

min'hu

from Himself

وَفَضْلٍۢ

wafaḍlin

and Bounty

وَيَهْدِيهِمْ

wayahdīhim

and will guide them

إِلَيْهِ

ilayhi

to Himself

صِرَٰطًۭا

ṣirāṭan

(on) a way

مُّسْتَقِيمًۭا

mus'taqīman

straight
