يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

yatasāalūna

are they asking one another

عَنِ

About

ٱلنَّبَإِ

l-naba-i

the News

ٱلْعَظِيمِ

l-ʿaẓīmi

the Great

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

(About) which

هُمْ

hum

they

فِيهِ

fīhi

(are) concerning it

مُخْتَلِفُونَ

mukh'talifūna

(in) disagreement

كَلَّا

kallā

Nay

سَيَعْلَمُونَ

sayaʿlamūna

(soon) they will know

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

كَلَّا

kallā

Nay

سَيَعْلَمُونَ

sayaʿlamūna

(soon) they will know

أَلَمْ

alam

Have not

نَجْعَلِ

najʿali

We made

ٱلْأَرْضَ

l-arḍa

the earth

مِهَـٰدًۭا

mihādan

a resting place

وَٱلْجِبَالَ

wal-jibāla

And the mountains

أَوْتَادًۭا

awtādan

(as) pegs

وَخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ

wakhalaqnākum

And We created you

أَزْوَٰجًۭا

azwājan

(in) pairs

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

And We made

نَوْمَكُمْ

nawmakum

your sleep

سُبَاتًۭا

subātan

(for) rest

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

And We made

ٱلَّيْلَ

al-layla

the night

لِبَاسًۭا

libāsan

(as) covering

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

And We made

ٱلنَّهَارَ

l-nahāra

the day

مَعَاشًۭا

maʿāshan

(for) livelihood

وَبَنَيْنَا

wabanaynā

And We constructed

فَوْقَكُمْ

fawqakum

over you

سَبْعًۭا

sabʿan

seven

شِدَادًۭا

shidādan

strong

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

And We placed

سِرَاجًۭا

sirājan

a lamp

وَهَّاجًۭا

wahhājan

burning

وَأَنزَلْنَا

wa-anzalnā

And We sent down

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ

l-muʿ'ṣirāti

the rain clouds

مَآءًۭ

māan

water

ثَجَّاجًۭا

thajjājan

pouring abundantly

لِّنُخْرِجَ

linukh'rija

That We may bring forth

بِهِۦ

bihi

thereby

حَبًّۭا

ḥabban

grain

وَنَبَاتًۭا

wanabātan

and vegetation

وَجَنَّـٰتٍ

wajannātin

And gardens

أَلْفَافًا

alfāfan

(of) thick foliage

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

يَوْمَ

yawma

(the) Day

ٱلْفَصْلِ

l-faṣli

(of) the Judgment

كَانَ

kāna

is

مِيقَـٰتًۭا

mīqātan

an appointed time

يَوْمَ

yawma

(The) Day

يُنفَخُ

yunfakhu

(in which) shall be blown

فِى

fī

in

ٱلصُّورِ

l-ṣūri

the trumpet

فَتَأْتُونَ

fatatūna

and you will come forth

أَفْوَاجًۭا

afwājan

(in) crowds

وَفُتِحَتِ

wafutiḥati

And is opened

ٱلسَّمَآءُ

l-samāu

the heaven

فَكَانَتْ

fakānat

and becomes

أَبْوَٰبًۭا

abwāban

gateways

وَسُيِّرَتِ

wasuyyirati

And are moved

ٱلْجِبَالُ

l-jibālu

the mountains

فَكَانَتْ

fakānat

and become

سَرَابًا

sarāban

a mirage

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

Hell

كَانَتْ

kānat

is

مِرْصَادًۭا

mir'ṣādan

lying in wait

لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ

lilṭṭāghīna

For the transgressors

مَـَٔابًۭا

maāban

a place of return

لَّـٰبِثِينَ

lābithīna

(They will) be remaining

فِيهَآ

fīhā

therein

أَحْقَابًۭا

aḥqāban

(for) ages

لَّا

lā

Not

يَذُوقُونَ

yadhūqūna

they will taste

فِيهَا

fīhā

therein

بَرْدًۭا

bardan

coolness

وَلَا

walā

and not

شَرَابًا

sharāban

any drink

إِلَّا

illā

Except

حَمِيمًۭا

ḥamīman

scalding water

وَغَسَّاقًۭا

waghassāqan

and purulence
