151

۞ قُلْ تَعَالَوْاْ أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ‌ۖ أَلَّا تُشْرِكُواْ بِهِۦ شَيْــًٔا‌ۖ وَبِٱلْوَٲلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَـٰنًا‌ۖ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓاْ أَوْلَـٰدَكُم مِّنْ إِمْلَـٰقٍ‌ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ‌ۖ وَلَا تَقْرَبُواْ ٱلْفَوَٲحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ‌ۖ وَلَا تَقْتُلُواْ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكُمْ وَصَّـٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١٥١﴾

۞ قُلْ

qul

Say

تَعَالَوْا۟

taʿālaw

Come

أَتْلُ

atlu

I will recite

مَا

what

حَرَّمَ

ḥarrama

has prohibited

رَبُّكُمْ

rabbukum

your Lord

عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ

ʿalaykum

to you

أَلَّا

allā

That (do) not

تُشْرِكُوا۟

tush'rikū

associate

بِهِۦ

bihi

with Him

شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ

shayan

anything

وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ

wabil-wālidayni

and with the parents

إِحْسَـٰنًۭا ۖ

iḥ'sānan

(be) good

وَلَا

walā

and (do) not

تَقْتُلُوٓا۟

taqtulū

kill

أَوْلَـٰدَكُم

awlādakum

your children

مِّنْ

min

(out) of

إِمْلَـٰقٍۢ ۖ

im'lāqin

poverty

نَّحْنُ

naḥnu

We

نَرْزُقُكُمْ

narzuqukum

provide for you

وَإِيَّاهُمْ ۖ

wa-iyyāhum

and for them

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تَقْرَبُوا۟

taqrabū

go near

ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ

l-fawāḥisha

[the] immoralities

مَا

what

ظَهَرَ

ẓahara

(is) apparent

مِنْهَا

min'hā

of them

وَمَا

wamā

and what

بَطَنَ ۖ

baṭana

(is) concealed

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تَقْتُلُوا۟

taqtulū

kill

ٱلنَّفْسَ

l-nafsa

the soul

ٱلَّتِى

allatī

which

حَرَّمَ

ḥarrama

has (been) forbidden

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

إِلَّا

illā

except

بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ

bil-ḥaqi

by (legal) right

ذَٰلِكُمْ

dhālikum

That

وَصَّىٰكُم

waṣṣākum

(He) has enjoined on you

بِهِۦ

bihi

with it

لَعَلَّكُمْ

laʿallakum

so that you may

تَعْقِلُونَ

taʿqilūna

use reason

152

وَلَا تَقْرَبُواْ مَالَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ‌ۖ وَأَوْفُواْ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ‌ۖ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا‌ۖ وَإِذَا قُلْتُمْ فَٱعْدِلُواْ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ‌ۖ وَبِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْفُواْ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكُمْ وَصَّـٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿١٥٢﴾

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تَقْرَبُوا۟

taqrabū

go near

مَالَ

māla

wealth

ٱلْيَتِيمِ

l-yatīmi

(of) the orphans

إِلَّا

illā

except

بِٱلَّتِى

bi-allatī

with that

هِىَ

hiya

which

أَحْسَنُ

aḥsanu

(is) best

حَتَّىٰ

ḥattā

until

يَبْلُغَ

yablugha

he reaches

أَشُدَّهُۥ ۖ

ashuddahu

his maturity

وَأَوْفُوا۟

wa-awfū

And give full

ٱلْكَيْلَ

l-kayla

[the] measure

وَٱلْمِيزَانَ

wal-mīzāna

and the weight

بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ

bil-qis'ṭi

with justice

لَا

Not

نُكَلِّفُ

nukallifu

We burden

نَفْسًا

nafsan

any soul

إِلَّا

illā

except

وُسْعَهَا ۖ

wus'ʿahā

(to) its capacity

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

قُلْتُمْ

qul'tum

you speak

فَٱعْدِلُوا۟

fa-iʿ'dilū

then be just

وَلَوْ

walaw

even if

كَانَ

kāna

he is

ذَا

dhā

(one of)

قُرْبَىٰ ۖ

qur'bā

a near relative

وَبِعَهْدِ

wabiʿahdi

And (the) Covenant

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

أَوْفُوا۟ ۚ

awfū

fulfil

ذَٰلِكُمْ

dhālikum

That

وَصَّىٰكُم

waṣṣākum

(He) has enjoined on you

بِهِۦ

bihi

with it

لَعَلَّكُمْ

laʿallakum

so that you may

تَذَكَّرُونَ

tadhakkarūna

remember

153

وَأَنَّ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطِى مُسْتَقِيمًا فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ‌ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلسُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكُمْ وَصَّـٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٥٣﴾

Mot à mot

وَأَنَّ

wa-anna

And that

هَـٰذَا

hādhā

this

صِرَٰطِى

ṣirāṭī

(is) My path

مُسْتَقِيمًۭا

mus'taqīman

straight

فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ ۖ

fa-ittabiʿūhu

so follow it

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تَتَّبِعُوا۟

tattabiʿū

follow

ٱلسُّبُلَ

l-subula

the (other) paths

فَتَفَرَّقَ

fatafarraqa

then they will separate

بِكُمْ

bikum

you

عَن

ʿan

from

سَبِيلِهِۦ ۚ

sabīlihi

His path

ذَٰلِكُمْ

dhālikum

That

وَصَّىٰكُم

waṣṣākum

(He) has enjoined on you

بِهِۦ

bihi

[with it]

لَعَلَّكُمْ

laʿallakum

so that you may

تَتَّقُونَ

tattaqūna

become righteous

154

ثُمَّ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ تَمَامًا عَلَى ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحْسَنَ وَتَفْصِيلاً لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٥٤﴾

Mot à mot

ثُمَّ

thumma

Moreover

ءَاتَيْنَا

ātaynā

We gave

مُوسَى

mūsā

Musa

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

l-kitāba

the Book

تَمَامًا

tamāman

completing (Our Favor)

عَلَى

ʿalā

on

ٱلَّذِىٓ

alladhī

the one who

أَحْسَنَ

aḥsana

did good

وَتَفْصِيلًۭا

watafṣīlan

and an explanation

لِّكُلِّ

likulli

of every

شَىْءٍۢ

shayin

thing

وَهُدًۭى

wahudan

and a guidance

وَرَحْمَةًۭ

waraḥmatan

and mercy

لَّعَلَّهُم

laʿallahum

so that they may

بِلِقَآءِ

biliqāi

in (the) meeting

رَبِّهِمْ

rabbihim

(with) their Lord

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

believe

155

وَهَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ مُبَارَكٌ فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ وَٱتَّقُواْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ﴿١٥٥﴾

Mot à mot

وَهَـٰذَا

wahādhā

And this

كِتَـٰبٌ

kitābun

(is) a Book

أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ

anzalnāhu

We have revealed it

مُبَارَكٌۭ

mubārakun

blessed

فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ

fa-ittabiʿūhu

so follow it

وَٱتَّقُوا۟

wa-ittaqū

and fear (Allah)

لَعَلَّكُمْ

laʿallakum

so that you may

تُرْحَمُونَ

tur'ḥamūna

receive mercy

156

أَن تَقُولُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ عَلَىٰ طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَـٰفِلِينَ ﴿١٥٦﴾

Mot à mot

أَن

an

Lest

تَقُولُوٓا۟

taqūlū

you say

إِنَّمَآ

innamā

Only

أُنزِلَ

unzila

was revealed

ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ

l-kitābu

the Book

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

on

طَآئِفَتَيْنِ

ṭāifatayni

the two groups

مِن

min

from

قَبْلِنَا

qablinā

before us

وَإِن

wa-in

and indeed

كُنَّا

kunnā

we were

عَن

ʿan

about

دِرَاسَتِهِمْ

dirāsatihim

their study

لَغَـٰفِلِينَ

laghāfilīna

certainly unaware

157

أَوْ تَقُولُواْ لَوْ أَنَّآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ لَكُنَّآ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمْ‌ۚ فَقَدْ جَآءَكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ‌ۚ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَّبَ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَصَدَفَ عَنْهَا‌ۗ سَنَجْزِى ٱلَّذِينَ يَصْدِفُونَ عَنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْدِفُونَ ﴿١٥٧﴾

أَوْ

aw

Or

تَقُولُوا۟

taqūlū

you say

لَوْ

law

If

أَنَّآ

annā

[that]

أُنزِلَ

unzila

was revealed

عَلَيْنَا

ʿalaynā

to us

ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ

l-kitābu

the Book

لَكُنَّآ

lakunnā

surely we (would) have been

أَهْدَىٰ

ahdā

better guided

مِنْهُمْ ۚ

min'hum

than them

فَقَدْ

faqad

So verily

جَآءَكُم

jāakum

has come to you

بَيِّنَةٌۭ

bayyinatun

clear proofs

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ

rabbikum

your Lord

وَهُدًۭى

wahudan

and a Guidance

وَرَحْمَةٌۭ ۚ

waraḥmatun

and a Mercy

فَمَنْ

faman

Then who

أَظْلَمُ

aẓlamu

(is) more unjust

مِمَّن

mimman

than (he) who

كَذَّبَ

kadhaba

denies

بِـَٔايَـٰتِ

biāyāti

[with] (the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَصَدَفَ

waṣadafa

and turns away

عَنْهَا ۗ

ʿanhā

from them

سَنَجْزِى

sanajzī

We will recompense

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

يَصْدِفُونَ

yaṣdifūna

turn away

عَنْ

ʿan

from

ءَايَـٰتِنَا

āyātinā

Our Signs

سُوٓءَ

sūa

(with) an evil

ٱلْعَذَابِ

l-ʿadhābi

punishment

بِمَا

bimā

because

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used to

يَصْدِفُونَ

yaṣdifūna

turn away

158

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ بَعْضُ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّكَ‌ۗ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى بَعْضُ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَـٰنُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ ءَامَنَتْ مِن قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِىٓ إِيمَـٰنِهَا خَيْرًا‌ۗ قُلِ ٱنتَظِرُوٓاْ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ ﴿١٥٨﴾

هَلْ

hal

Are

يَنظُرُونَ

yanẓurūna

they waiting

إِلَّآ

illā

except

أَن

an

that

تَأْتِيَهُمُ

tatiyahumu

comes to them

ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ

l-malāikatu

the Angels

أَوْ

aw

or

يَأْتِىَ

yatiya

comes

رَبُّكَ

rabbuka

your Lord

أَوْ

aw

or

يَأْتِىَ

yatiya

comes

بَعْضُ

baʿḍu

some (of)

ءَايَـٰتِ

āyāti

(the) Signs

رَبِّكَ ۗ

rabbika

(of) your Lord

يَوْمَ

yawma

(The) Day

يَأْتِى

yatī

(when) comes

بَعْضُ

baʿḍu

some (of)

ءَايَـٰتِ

āyāti

(the) Signs

رَبِّكَ

rabbika

(of) your Lord

لَا

not

يَنفَعُ

yanfaʿu

will benefit

نَفْسًا

nafsan

a soul

إِيمَـٰنُهَا

īmānuhā

its faith

لَمْ

lam

not

تَكُنْ

takun

(if) it had

ءَامَنَتْ

āmanat

believed

مِن

min

from

قَبْلُ

qablu

before

أَوْ

aw

or

كَسَبَتْ

kasabat

earned

فِىٓ

through

إِيمَـٰنِهَا

īmānihā

its faith

خَيْرًۭا ۗ

khayran

any good

قُلِ

quli

Say

ٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟

intaẓirū

Wait

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, we

مُنتَظِرُونَ

muntaẓirūna

(are) those who wait

159

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ‌ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿١٥٩﴾

Mot à mot

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

فَرَّقُوا۟

farraqū

divide

دِينَهُمْ

dīnahum

their religion

وَكَانُوا۟

wakānū

and become

شِيَعًۭا

shiyaʿan

sects

لَّسْتَ

lasta

you are not

مِنْهُمْ

min'hum

with them

فِى

in

شَىْءٍ ۚ

shayin

anything

إِنَّمَآ

innamā

Only

أَمْرُهُمْ

amruhum

their affair

إِلَى

ilā

(is) with

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

يُنَبِّئُهُم

yunabbi-uhum

He will inform them

بِمَا

bimā

of what

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used to

يَفْعَلُونَ

yafʿalūna

do

160

مَن جَآءَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا‌ۖ وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَىٰٓ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ﴿١٦٠﴾

Mot à mot

مَن

man

Whoever

جَآءَ

jāa

came

بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ

bil-ḥasanati

with a good deed

فَلَهُۥ

falahu

then for him

عَشْرُ

ʿashru

(is) ten (times)

أَمْثَالِهَا ۖ

amthālihā

the like of it

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

جَآءَ

jāa

came

بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ

bil-sayi-ati

with an evil deed

فَلَا

falā

then not

يُجْزَىٰٓ

yuj'zā

he will be recompensed

إِلَّا

illā

except

مِثْلَهَا

mith'lahā

the like of it

وَهُمْ

wahum

and they

لَا

will not

يُظْلَمُونَ

yuẓ'lamūna

(be) wronged

161

قُلْ إِنَّنِى هَدَٮٰنِى رَبِّىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ دِينًا قِيَمًا مِّلَّةَ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ حَنِيفًا‌ۚ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿١٦١﴾

Mot à mot

قُلْ

qul

Say

إِنَّنِى

innanī

Indeed (as for) me

هَدَىٰنِى

hadānī

has guided me

رَبِّىٓ

rabbī

my Lord

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

صِرَٰطٍۢ

ṣirāṭin

a path

مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

mus'taqīmin

straight

دِينًۭا

dīnan

a religion

قِيَمًۭا

qiyaman

right

مِّلَّةَ

millata

religion

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

ib'rāhīma

(of) Ibrahim

حَنِيفًۭا ۚ

ḥanīfan

a true monotheist

وَمَا

wamā

And not

كَانَ

kāna

he was

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

l-mush'rikīna

the polytheists

162

قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٦٢﴾

Mot à mot

قُلْ

qul

Say

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

صَلَاتِى

ṣalātī

my prayer

وَنُسُكِى

wanusukī

and my rites of sacrifice

وَمَحْيَاىَ

wamaḥyāya

and my living

وَمَمَاتِى

wamamātī

and my dying

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

(are) for Allah

رَبِّ

rabbi

Lord

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

l-ʿālamīna

(of) the worlds

163

لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُۥ‌ۖ وَبِذَٲلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا۟ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ ﴿١٦٣﴾

Mot à mot

لَا

No

شَرِيكَ

sharīka

partners

لَهُۥ ۖ

lahu

for Him

وَبِذَٰلِكَ

wabidhālika

and with that

أُمِرْتُ

umir'tu

I have been commanded

وَأَنَا۠

wa-anā

And I am

أَوَّلُ

awwalu

(the) first

ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ

l-mus'limīna

(of) the ones who surrender (to Him)

164

قُلْ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِى رَبًّا وَهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ‌ۚ وَلَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ إِلَّا عَلَيْهَا‌ۚ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ‌ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿١٦٤﴾

Mot à mot

قُلْ

qul

Say

أَغَيْرَ

aghayra

Is (it) other than

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

أَبْغِى

abghī

I (should) seek

رَبًّۭا

rabban

(as) a Lord

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

while He

رَبُّ

rabbu

(is) the Lord

كُلِّ

kulli

(of) every

شَىْءٍۢ ۚ

shayin

thing

وَلَا

walā

And not

تَكْسِبُ

taksibu

earns

كُلُّ

kullu

every

نَفْسٍ

nafsin

soul

إِلَّا

illā

except

عَلَيْهَا ۚ

ʿalayhā

against itself

وَلَا

walā

and not

تَزِرُ

taziru

bears

وَازِرَةٌۭ

wāziratun

any bearer of burden

وِزْرَ

wiz'ra

burden

أُخْرَىٰ ۚ

ukh'rā

(of) another

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

رَبِّكُم

rabbikum

your Lord

مَّرْجِعُكُمْ

marjiʿukum

(is) your return

فَيُنَبِّئُكُم

fayunabbi-ukum

then He will inform you

بِمَا

bimā

about what

كُنتُمْ

kuntum

you were

فِيهِ

fīhi

concerning it

تَخْتَلِفُونَ

takhtalifūna

differing

165

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَـٰٓئِفَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَكُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَـٰتٍ لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَـٰكُمْ‌ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمُۢ ﴿١٦٥﴾

Mot à mot

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

And He

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

(is) the One Who

جَعَلَكُمْ

jaʿalakum

(has) made you

خَلَـٰٓئِفَ

khalāifa

successors

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

(of) the earth

وَرَفَعَ

warafaʿa

and raised

بَعْضَكُمْ

baʿḍakum

some of you

فَوْقَ

fawqa

above

بَعْضٍۢ

baʿḍin

others

دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ

darajātin

(in) ranks

لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ

liyabluwakum

so that He may test you

فِى

in

مَآ

what

ءَاتَىٰكُمْ ۗ

ātākum

He has given you

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

رَبَّكَ

rabbaka

your Lord

سَرِيعُ

sarīʿu

(is) swift

ٱلْعِقَابِ

l-ʿiqābi

(in) the punishment

وَإِنَّهُۥ

wa-innahu

and indeed, He (is)

لَغَفُورٌۭ

laghafūrun

[certainly], Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمٌۢ

raḥīmun
