ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

شَقَقْنَا

shaqaqnā

We cleaved

ٱلْأَرْضَ

l-arḍa

the earth

شَقًّۭا

shaqqan

splitting

فَأَنۢبَتْنَا

fa-anbatnā

Then We caused to grow

فِيهَا

fīhā

therein

حَبًّۭا

ḥabban

grain

وَعِنَبًۭا

waʿinaban

And grapes

وَقَضْبًۭا

waqaḍban

and green fodder

وَزَيْتُونًۭا

wazaytūnan

And olive

وَنَخْلًۭا

wanakhlan

and date-palms

وَحَدَآئِقَ

waḥadāiqa

And gardens

غُلْبًۭا

ghul'ban

(of) thick foliage

وَفَـٰكِهَةًۭ

wafākihatan

And fruits

وَأَبًّۭا

wa-abban

and grass

مَّتَـٰعًۭا

matāʿan

(As) a provision

لَّكُمْ

lakum

for you

وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ

wali-anʿāmikum

and for your cattle

فَإِذَا

fa-idhā

But when

جَآءَتِ

jāati

comes

ٱلصَّآخَّةُ

l-ṣākhatu

the Deafening Blast

يَوْمَ

yawma

(The) Day

يَفِرُّ

yafirru

will flee

ٱلْمَرْءُ

l-maru

a man

مِنْ

min

from

أَخِيهِ

akhīhi

his brother

وَأُمِّهِۦ

wa-ummihi

And his mother

وَأَبِيهِ

wa-abīhi

and his father

وَصَـٰحِبَتِهِۦ

waṣāḥibatihi

And his wife

وَبَنِيهِ

wabanīhi

and his children

لِكُلِّ

likulli

For every

ٱمْرِئٍۢ

im'ri-in

man

مِّنْهُمْ

min'hum

among them

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

yawma-idhin

that Day

شَأْنٌۭ

shanun

(will be) a matter

يُغْنِيهِ

yugh'nīhi

occupying him

وُجُوهٌۭ

wujūhun

Faces

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

yawma-idhin

that Day

مُّسْفِرَةٌۭ

mus'firatun

(will be) bright

ضَاحِكَةٌۭ

ḍāḥikatun

Laughing

مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۭ

mus'tabshiratun

rejoicing at good news

وَوُجُوهٌۭ

wawujūhun

And faces

يَوْمَئِذٍ

yawma-idhin

that Day

عَلَيْهَا

ʿalayhā

upon them

غَبَرَةٌۭ

ghabaratun

(will be) dust

تَرْهَقُهَا

tarhaquhā

Will cover them

قَتَرَةٌ

qataratun

darkness

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

ulāika

Those

هُمُ

humu

[they]

ٱلْكَفَرَةُ

l-kafaratu

(are) the disbelievers

ٱلْفَجَرَةُ

l-fajaratu

the wicked ones
